Key Biscayne
This morning I started the Ragnar relay for Action 4 news team, departing from Crandon Park on Key Biscayne. The start waas a madhouse, with a gallery of onlookers taking pictures and setting off fireworks as the 8:00 AM runners started. I was with a group of approx. 20 others, and talked for awhile with an "ultra" Ragnar runner - who is part of a 6-man team and will run approx. 32 miles over the course of friday and saturday - insane! He was from Geeorgetown U and did his first Ragnar with a group of his college buddies too. I dressed for the "Anchorman" theme of our team with a Ron Burgundy wig and a glue on mustache, pictures coming soon. The morning run itself was nice and relaxed. I only had a 3 mile leg, and most of it was along the beach and through sea grapes and mangroves. I crossed the brigde to Virginia Key and had a great view of downtown Miami, it was spectacular! Van 1 of Action 4 is now eating lunch, and Ill get back on the course this evening at ~ 430 for a 9.3 mile leg. My endurance after that leg will tell me alot about how I might feel by the time we reach Key West. -Andy
